Trials: Mercy from God

12 Jun

What if your blessings come through raindrops?

What if your healing comes through tears?

What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know you’re near?

What if trials of this life are your mercies in disguise?

(Blessings – Laura Story)

Had a revelation about this song today and how it has applied to my own life and experiences.

Ask yourself: Where has God allowed trials in your life and how have they been a blessing to you? Have you thanked him for the hard times that have molded you into the image of who you were called to be as a follower of Christ?

Jen, how true that we have to learn to say thank you! My dad used to ask me that every time-It would just tick me off-but now I get it! In fact I asked a candidate referred to me last wk if they had thanked God yet? She thought I was crazy at first, but when I explained what God’s word says about thanking him in all things. She understood and even more when I said He never closes one door w/out opening another. She called me a week later-she wanted me to teach her how I talk! I said excuse me? I didn’t understand-but then she said that she had never had a business conversation where God or Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit is also a part of the conversation. She said it’s like He’s right there! I said, He is!
This is His business and I speak to him all day long about it and what I should do next. I told her what I do in the morning in my quiet time-about giving my voice (his anyway) and my mouth to him to say and do whatever He wants as we work during the day-then we go to work. God was really determined to get this lesson in my head. A few minutes later, I had an email from a woman that I had spoken to this morning. She wanted to know the same thing! So I told her the same thing but then on Sunday when our pastor gave his sermon on Matt 10:19-20-Jesus is speaking and letting the disciples know they never have to worry about what they will say, the Holy Spirit will speak the right words-how incredible is that? And then when I started the post, the Lord but you have to be abiding in Me to be hearing the Holy Spirit and following along, so add in John 15:1-4. The comments I have gotten back have been amazing and I am still bursting with it!
